Yarn

Depending on the size you are making, you’ll need one to two (1 to 2) approx. 100 g skeins of fingering weight yarn, 400 yards each and one (1) mini skein of fingering weight yarn of approx. 20 g / 80 yds.

Yarn is held double with itself or another, low-contrast fingering weight yarn throughout to create a worsted weight gauge.

Needles & Notions

  • DK or Worsted weight scrap yarn’

  • Smaller needle/gauge needle - US 4/3.5 mm OR needle size needed to obtain gauge 16” Circular or DPNs

  • Larger needles - US 6/4.0 mm OR needle size 2 sizes higher than that which you obtained gauge

  • Two Cable needles

  • Tapestry needle

  • Two types of stitch markers. 5, 6, 7 (8, 9, 10) stitch markers for marking repeats. One beginning of round stitch marker

Gauge

32 sts x 30 rows over 4” x 4” in unblocked, unstretched 1x1 twisted ribbing, knit in the round, on US 4/3.5 mm

28 sts x 28 rows over 4” x 4” in unblocked cable pattern, knit in the round, on US 6/4.0 mm

Baby, Toddler, Child, (Teen/Adult, Adult L, Adult XL) sized to fit head circumferences 14”-16”, 16”-18”, 18”-20”, (20”-22”, 22”-24”, 24”-26”).
